Something a little different from my usual colouring jobs, this was a project brought on by some historical research, the loco was built in 1875 as a test bed to see how small a proper 'working railway', one hauling goods and passengers, could be built. The gauge was 15", the designer a British Baronet, Sir Arthur Heywood; seen here with the loco when new in 1875 [link] He named the loco Effie after his wife.
I researched the paint scheme and made this historical reference, the line work was a technical drawing by Mark Smithers but I drew the works plates and namplates, we all need a hobby.
I love this little engine. Well, all small engines really XD. Clearly a lot of work has been put into this, and serves as a fitting tribute to the creator of the 15 inch gauge. Nice one
